Does anyone know of a good no noise reduction app for a mobile phone? Currently I don't have a working computer so relying on my smartphone for photo editing.

Thanks, Ricky

Are you serious??

Pixlr Express (by Autodesk) is a good all-in-one photo processing app which includes Denoise as well as blur, sharpen, red eye, touch up, crop, rotate, colour, vibrance, contrast, etc, etc. Plus a crop of effects, text overlays, borders, etc.

However, Photoshop Touch not only has most of what you'd need to process photos (e.g. curves, levels, shadows/highlights, colour balance, reduce noise), it also allows you to use layers and masking as in CS or Elements.

Pixlr Express is free, PS Touch is £6.99 but worth it if you're serious about processing on a phone or tablet.

Thanks for your reply Garry Knight (and one that's actually helpful) . Yea pixlr express is a good bet. I have Adobe touch and I'll have to look into that further.

Obviously the mobile market has gained major footing in the past few years. Who do you think has the advantage, the photographer or can do advanced photography editing on the spot or one that has to wait to use a desktop? I even think desktop computers will decline even more soon and may even be a thing of the past in the future. Heck we already have phones with quad core processors. In about a year to two they'll be able to handle advanced photo editing no problem. I emailed noise ninja and they have not ruled out the smartphone market but are just waiting for the processors to get more powerful.

Apps like Pixlr Express and PS Touch are great if you want to take a photo with your phone, process it, and upload it to, say, Twitter when it's time-critical. For example, if you're on the spot when something newsworthy happens. I hope video-processing apps improve a lot, too.

I have to say, though, that I copy my photos to my Nexus 7 tablet and process them there. It's much easier to see the result of the processing, and especially whether the sharpening is enough or over the top.
