Thanks Ross, yes the first picture is a bit punchy/in your face. Has been a bit of a busy week and the fence shot was with my phone whilst holding our 2 dogs leads:rolleyes::). Next few weeks should be quieter so hope to actually use the camera

Great choice for your broken shot but I think that I might have gone with your first shot for texture.

Thanks Bill, you and everyone else including my wife chose the first shot, one day I will pick the right one… maybe
 
Good pics, but I think I'd have gone with the broken E for the framing, and the first texture pic is brilliant (although I can't tell what it is!)

Broken - I think I might also prefer the restaurant. I think the castle is a nicer shot, but the restaurant is a little more unusual, so it nudges it for me.

Texture - I like the colour contrast in the weave.

Shadow - it's the woofer for me.

Think it’s pretty unanimous I picked the wrong shots for broken and texture :) but so far it’s just the 2 of us who prefer the woofer, only picked the path as I was “advised” by my better half

The thing I've learned over the years doing the 52 is to be open to the suggestions and try to find out why other people prefer the one they did. Of course it's very subjective and it's still a relatively small sample size. I always try and put a rationale if I have a different opinion to the OP's choice so they can at least consider the alternative.

I also welcome the same.

Yeah I had a plan but that didn’t come off and found it hard to get motivated on the theme this week, moan , moan :)
