Great idea. But what camera did you use to take the pic?

Just slung together really - in a vague sort of "floral" fan arrangement!

Nice selection. I’ve got a soft spot for the Panny TZ range.

TBH, I haven't and the TZ100 sits unused on a shelf. The Sony RX100iii doesn't have the zoom range but is so much better in all other respects that it's that that gets taken as the compact option on holiday, alongside a Fuji mirrorless kit.

Great idea. But what camera did you use to take the pic?

The same one that I've used for all the 52 shots (so far! and intend to carry on as long as possible as a personal challenge.) - a Fuji X-30 compact, with any editing done in camera, pretty much just cropping and resizing.

I want more, but swmbo wont allow it, I have an eye on the new Olympus OM1 as I have and original om1n.

Buy it for her... ;)

Another selection this week!

I tried a couple of (in camera) double exposures, trying to be arty-farty. Not my forté!!! One is our cherry against our thuja and the other is a group of trees shot twice with a gentle twist. The second one would be my choice of these but there are more to choose from!

DSCF5833.JPGDSCF5834.JPG

Firstly, the cherry and thuja side by side rather than stacked (in a single exposure!)

DSCF5832.JPG

Next up are a couple of the stand of trees and backlit but single exposures.

DSCF5835.JPGDSCF5839.JPG

and one detail shot of some sycamore (well, some sort of acer!) blossom.

DSCF5838.JPG

And finally, a couple of shots of Lady Mary's Pines over the mouth of the Otter at Budleigh Salterton.

DSCF5840.JPGDSCF5841.JPG

Not sure which will be my final choice yet but I'm leaning towards the final one - among other reasons, an elderly aunt was scattered on the beach just over the hump!

I think I would choose the final one as well.

But, the second double exposure one works for me.

Nice varied set

Chosen one has good layers but the second works best for me.

Of the 2 double exposures, the second would be my choice but I'm not happy enough for it to be "the chosen one"!

It's an interesting set with the best one selected.

It's a bit of a shame that the clouds were moving so fast (and we weren't!) - they're far more interesting in the shot from the path!

I recognise the location of last 2 (and nearly walked down there myself to make an image for this week)! ;)

Nice set, those spring colours are lovely.

Thought you might recognise the pines! I doubt that you're a complete stranger to 2, 4, 5 & 6 either - they're all at Otterton Mill.

Some very interesting shots there Nod, I was thinking that the first image almost looks under water to me.

I do like your chosen image. Really like the composition and the colours.

The double exposures are interesting. At least you had a play around with it. However, I think I would go with your chosen shot too.

On your choice for the main thread you picked the winner, love the bit of water RHS leading the viewer in to the rest of this lovely image. A great shot indeed.

Had the tide been in, the first shot's red muddy bit would have been watery! I do often try to get some sort of leading line in and have been known to get lines on thirds too...

Looking that that first shot again, I see what you mean. I can take no credit for the colours (thank you, Mr Fuji's JPEG settings person!) and the composition is fairly well set by nature to get all the trees in one frame.

The DE option/mode on the baby X Fujis works reasonably well but has one big drawback - it needs a button press on the back of the camera to accept the first shot before you can take the second, so for a couple of things I want to shoot using it, there's enough movement of the camera to get the second shot JUST out of register so it doesn't look quite right. I'll have to shoot 2 shots and play in PP to get the shots I want!

Oops! Misread the theme as HoleS rather than the singular. So, a selection of multiple holes. None of which are NSFW!!!

Our Bee hotel is almost fully occupied.

I think my favourite is the terracotta ball, possibly since it made it all the way home from Crete in one piece!

All are good for the theme.
Personally a close up of the bee hotel would be my choice but bear in mind I like bees.

The Hotel is behind a bed so getting closer isn't that easy - and when I tried, the guests didn't like it! I was hoping to catch more than one looking for a vacancy but as soon as #2 turned up, they would start squabbling over the bridal suite... Might have to create a new wing - got plenty of bamboo poles.

I think that I like your first washing machine drum shot Nod. It's a little abstract and makes the viewer try to work out what they are seeing. I also like the texture of the image.

If I'd managed to get it squarer, it might well have been my choice - an easy fix in PP but I'm trying to avoid any more than cropping and resizing as a personal challenge.

All good shots for the theme Nod. Your terracotta pot is unusual for the star shaped holes so works well for me.

Technology - It's great that lighting can be retro fitted, at least with an LED type on during the day the electricity used will be considerably lower than earlier designs.

Discarded - I like the appearance of the back of the van with the window as an eye, combined with the red markers it looks like the operative is providing a sacrifice to the refuse deity.

Flora - All interesting images and good the transition from shoots to full blown. It still amazes me what a tiny seed can turn into.

Unusual - You normally realise too late you have just sliced a body part with what appears benign paper, when the sting kicks in!! I like the phone though I'm wondering if they was space to isolate it between the end of the sheds and the life belt??

Snappers Choice - I probably have a similar range, G5 mirrorless, FZ82 bridge, TZ30 compact zoom and go pro clone that seemed a good idea but would be covered in dust if not in a case through no use.

Trees - Great composition on the last one and my particular favourite of the set. Need to check the "arty-farty" settings on my camera to see what I can do to "enhance" my photos!!

Hole - I do like the terracotta tea light shade, the abstract views inside the washing machine are interesting too. Anyone watching a TP 52 member trying to capture a theme must get some strange looks at times with what they are taking a photo of. :)

Most of mine have been taken either in private or are of fairly normal things! I have had odd looks from people when I've been taking close ups of trays of small fish (and, indeed, detail shots of bloody great big 'uns!!!) etc. in street markets. The slightly odd looks I got when shooting the Alley ones were because I only just fit down the Street!!!

While days have been fine, it's been less clement at either end of them but I did manage to grab the shot below just after the Sun had gone down. Not quite monochromatic to fill the tech brief without an Ikea OMSORG...

DSCF5935.JPG

If there's a better display in the next day or two, I might update.

Don't think you need to update, it fills the brief as it is. When I first looked at it on my tablet I thought the inclusion of the star in the centre was a masterstroke...then I wiped the speck of dust from my screen :)

I agree.. it does what it needs to do and ticks the box.

Technically, it was shot at sunset but the Sun had gone down behind the hill so was invisible, right at the beginning of the blue hour! It could almost shoehorn in as monochrome but there's the hint of pink/orange along the horizon as well as the black foreground.

I have a punning clan for the tech...

As soon as I saw the theme, I knew what my shot would be and a second or 2 later, I realised that I could use the shot for the tech as well.
Being an accomplished golfer hitter of golf balls into and over hedges, I spend some time looking for my mislaid balls and inevitably find plenty of other people's as well as (occasionally!) my own, so I have loads (literally gallons!) of assorted balls of assorted colours so stuck a load of yellow ones in a yellow box and framed them as best I could to get as much symmetry as possible into the shot (without resorting to a tripod). I did consider using the in-camera colour popping setting but decided to spend a moment or 2 arranging the balls so that most of the red numbers and marks (some people mark their balls for identification) weren't visible. What appear to be black letters are just very (very!) dark yellow... ;)

DSCF5939.JPG

Annoyed with myself for not spotting the 2 red numbers at the lower right hand corner! Must have turned over when I was adjusting others. I could reshoot but that would (IMO!) be cheating.

Clone stamp :)

Nice one for the theme :)
