Yes
I think that EdinburghGary and I could have put together a web site for Image World in the time this thread has been running. We would have used less effort to do so than the members of this forum have kindly devoted to solving the problems of the original.

There have been a high number of quality interventions and the site still suffers from problems. The wedding, portrait and schools propositions are not strong enough and need rethinking.

My suggestion is reconsider what your business is, throw away the web site and create one that will appeal to the maket to which you wish to offer your photography propositions.

You come across a very rude person with a very large chip on his shoulder.
Did you think you'd achieve anything by creating another thread?

He seems to be taking people's advice, and is changing the website accordingly.
It is very difficult to create a successful website.

My suggestion is reconsider whether or not you want to be a member of Talk Photography, since it is rare that I don't find one of your comments rude.

Give me a bloody chance-i spent ages on that last night but do have to sleeo. i do work too 7 days a week and havnt finished it yet.

now u have peed me off sorry but you have

Maybe it was meant to be a reply, not a new thread?

The comments are quite provoking though, perhaps consider how they will be recieved, just because we ask for help or advice doesn't mean give us the right to belittle people.

It was meant to be a thread, the title says it all. Would have been better as a reply clearly.

Gary.

just a small question...
is this comment aimed at digitalmaniac or rh1944?

It was the reference to 'this thread' that made me think he'd meant to reply.

Just hate to think anyone is so deliberatly provoking and inconsiderate of others feelings. :(

I am happy to withdraw my remarks. I went through the entire text last night and got rid of the spelling mistakes, corrected the typos, removed the hyperbole and changed the English so that it made a load more sense than the original.

I know how much effort it took to put together my web site and it is less than people have expended on offering good advice in this instance. I also know the elapsed time was less as well.

The proposition on the school is aimed at the school which seems to be confusing as the propositions of the rest of the site are aimed at individuals. This gives mixed messages about the intent of Image World. The school proposition belongs on a separate web site.

I do not see the improvement in the web site that the effort expended deserves. I would be happy to create an entirely new web site for free (apart from the cost of hosting the site), if that's what it takes.

Why make remarks if you're just going to withdraw them?
Have the courage of your convictions, or just stop making them.

What you did was very kind, and I'm sure it was well appreciated.
The comments, however, were opposite. You're being condescending, and I don't think anyone likes it.

Hmm not sure what the goal of this thread is meant to be? If its to make someone feel bad about their hard work then I congratulate you.

I doubt digitalmarc is a webdesigner, and working 7 days a week and having little time doesnt give you the advantage of spending hours and even days working on a website to get it to be perfect, and this is especially difficult if you dont have the required knowledge to get to you goal quickly.

You can pick fault with any website, but you need to put that criticism across constructively for people to care about it.

Your thoughts and hard work were taken in-but it was bedtime and i am working for 5 hours today. Just because you feel schools should be on another site doesnt mean I am going to pay for two sites when i am on a budget at the moment.

Well intentioned but could have been put a little more tactfully? There's no need for another thread anyway that I can see.
