Hi folks

I bought a brand new D7200 yesterday from London Camera Exchange. I have confirmed it is brand new by the shutter count (1 actuation on a shot I took).
I partially bought it as there is an offer on where Nikon will give you a free grip on registration and sending in copies of receipt and registration card.

Trouble is, when I got home late Saturday, I noticed the warranty card is missing from the box and Nikon will not fulfil the free grip offer without the warranty card.

I'm going to contact LCE in the morning to see if they have the warranty card but failing that, what would you do? I don't want to lose out on the free grip offer and also worried Nikon may say that without the card, they will not fulfil the warranty.
I think my best option is to ask for a refund or replacement if they cant find it but want some advice or opinions.

thanks

Julian

I think you've answered your own question, but any decent dealer will sort it without a fuss.

Trouble is I don't like making a fuss over things but it will annoy me.

You're not making a fuss at all - you are just asking for the warranty card, so you can claim the grip - don't worry, I am sure they'll sort you out.

You could also make a quick call to Nikon (if there is a contact number) to explain and see what they say re the warranty card...

You may need the warranty card to claim the grip, but Nikon cannot refuse warrant repairs if you do not have or have not registered the camera. There is no requirement in law to complete one of these or to register a product to be covered by warranty.

Again, I'm sure you're worrying over nothing. In the meantime have you made sure you've checked everywhere in the box, sometimes I've known warranty cards get stuck in the packaging somewhere?

Yes I have checked everywhere in the box, my car and anywhere the camera has been.
Thinking about it, only the manual was in the box - no other paperwork or software like ViewNX - time for a visit to LCE.

Good luck, I am sure they will resolve it for you.

I've not long brought a d7200 check the back of your instruction book that is your warranty card I had the same thought when I opened mind and only found the yellow warranty card for the lens, all u have to do is fill it in your self photo copy and send it off with a copy of your receipt and they send you your grip

Darn - now I feel SO stupid - the back page of the manual is the warranty card - I was looking for the yellow card like they used to do.

Thanks all, problem solved :)

Yay - just got an email from Nikon and my free grip is on its way.
That'll teach me to look for things properly;)
