This may seem like a pointless post, but I'm going to say it anyway, i just so want to get the camera out, but I just don't have the time.
I have so many things going on at the moment, I can't find the time to take any photos of anything.
? Does anyone else have this problem?

Yup, not taken a frame since January been busy training but I've got some ideas starting to crystallise so no doubt I'll make time and throttle back the training. Comes and goes, if I've nothing I want to photograph there isn't much point in taking the camera out. Don't sweat it.

I know your problem.

Last week was first time since December last year....... and the reason was a week's holiday in Italy.

I did have a little lapse a while ago, not getting out nearly as much or as long as I would like to. Grabbing as much photo time as I can, but it does take some of the enjoyment out of it, when it gets limited and rushed...

I'm only new to this so my enthusiasm is high and I literally find myself carrying my camera round the house in case something odd happens like the hoovering, haha.

I actually love the idea of picking up and putting down without the feeling of guilt that might come with other hobbies such as team sports, charity work etc.

When I can't find time to do the things I love it's normally followed by relived excitement when that time does eventually come and as Steven mentions the break breeds some creativity for new ideas, I've been thinking of keeping a book for days like this where I can write down a theme to shoot at a later date when time permits, that way on the limited time days it's straight to the job instead of pondering the morning away.

I recently had a year of not taking a single photo! Life sometimes gets the better of everything...

Yep been there myself a few years ago, mind you I can still be found chasing the missus and the cat and dog around the house with the camera. They tend to keep clear of me now :)

I can't even remember the last time I picked the camera up!

Do you have a work diary where you can sneak an hour somewhere?
Treat the wife so uou csn sneak off for half a day on a weekend? :D

Yep I feel your pain ... in my day job I have a team member off on long term sick , everything has subsequently gone crazy and ive barely touched my camera in months

One of the reasons I gravitated to shooting at sunrise. At this time of year I can get out for a few hours and get back home at about the time most are thinking of getting up.
Great way to start the day, but I am lucky only being 20 - 30 minutes from the coast :)

Have to say I haven't had the camera out for several months. Yes I have been busy, but I just seem to have lost my love for photography at the moment. May be it is because I have never quite achieved what I wanted to do.

Yep

Not done anything other than phone snaps for about a year.

I'm calm though. Photography comes and goes and I know one day the bug will bite me again.

Got plenty of time, just don't have the inclination as often.

YES! I work part time, but most of my time is taken up with housework, shopping, cleaning, walking the dogs & cooking!!! And when I do have time, I'm either knackered, or feeling guilty cos there's something else I should be doing like seeing aged mother (n)

I haven't gone out with the camera for about six or seven months. I feel bad about this. I could/should make the time, but life has a habit of getting in the way. Note to self, must try harder!

I always take my camera with me whenever I go out. At least half the time it never comes out of the bag. But I often spot something interesting, sometimes permanent and interesting enough that next time I go out in that direction I'll take a more appropriate lens and perhaps a more suitable support such as bean bag or tripod. I don't take it with me when I go to the local shops, reasoning that I can be back in five minutes with the camera if there's something interesting going on. But I really ought to take it to the shops with me as well. Then I wouldn't miss the occasional extraordinary passing vehicle or person, like the time I found a Google camera car stopped outside my front gate. I ran back in to get the camera, but it was gone when I returned. I could have ended up being visible in Google streetview photographing the Google car!

I'm hoping that In a couple of weeks that I'll have more free time.
Just like some of the replies here, so many things get in the way.
If I'm not working (as in my job), I'm working at our livery yard. Thankfully this is coming to an end after tomorrow.

I gave up a decent career and I'm now pretty much a 9-5 24/7 carer. I'm usually up until midnight and sometimes until 3 or 4 am and often tied to the house for long periods plus I (thankfully) have a love life to consider and juggle and fit in somewhere too so I can go for quite a while without getting even 2 or 3 hours to myself to head off out with a camera although I can sometimes get out into the garden and shoot some flowers during the day.

I get a couple of breaks a year and I've had just had two weeks during which it was dull and rained every single day and pretty much every shot I took was with flat dead light and a completely featureless white or grey sky. Actually my little break ended last Sunday morning at 05:00 and guess what... the weather has been pretty lovely every day since!

Oh well :D Just gotta enjoy my little hobby when I can :D

When I have a bit of spare time (an hour or two) I'm always in the wrong place and the light is wrong. I had planned to go out last week over to Herringfleet mill for sunrise, the weather was looking good, but I could not get to my equipment as the room it is stored in was full of furniture while we have the house decorated.

There is always time. Nothing a 3am alarm and a bit of walking won't sort.
It's not always easy to find time, but it is always possible

I have the advantage (to me at least) of working in central London. 30 or 40 minutes out of my lunch time to go out taking pictures is do-able most days.

Laptop + tube journey home sorts out PP.
