No internet on PC

Hi all , booted up my Win10 PC this morning and there is no internet connection, it is wired direct to a Sky hub
Everything else is working in the house including the wi-fi
Never had issues before
Ran the diagnostic tool and it says “Ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration “
Any help would be appreciated!!
 
I've had this before and clicking the network troubleshooter to try and fix it fixes it every time. (Right click the internet icon in your taskbar and choose "troubleshoot")

My next course of action would be a router reboot.

I often wonder whether it's the ethernet cable but it happens so infrequently I haven't got round to checking.
 
You could first try disable ethernet then re-enable, and BTW have you tried turning the PC off and on again. ;)
Windows is constantly doing updates and it can mess up your drivers but try the troubleshooter first.
 
Thanks for all your help guys, re-booted router and all is working again !
 
It's really annoying that the "switch it off, leave it a while and switch it back on again" thing works!

Glad you're sorted.
