I thought I might be able to listen to Charlton's game today on the radio as I can't be there.

Nope I have to pay £5/month.

I know the clubs are just trying to make money though and are providing a service that you can choose to pay for or not.

I had been thinking I could listen to the matches when at a club to photograph them.

That'll be a no then :'(

League games cannot be broadcast online for...as they state "contractual reason", the only ones you can get are the conference games.
 
I'll have a chat with them at Charlton next time I'm there and see if there is a way to 'tune' in for free.
 
Beggars belief that some people think football is for their entertainment. When will they learn its a money making business first and foremost :D
 
Sorry but that's not true, radio london broadcast every spurs game and I have heard many using the ipad and a radio app
Tuned in only a couple of weeks ago to hear Paulinho's winner
 
I think Acetone did have his tongue in cheek slightly.

I am thinking of it helping me. I didn't realise a few.weeks ago at Millwall that someone had actually scored a hat trick !!!!

I'd never thought of that before Robin, listening while shooting, I can see it being a huge help in situations like you said, knowing exactly who scored and the like.
 
I got photos in one game at Millwall and didn't realise it was the kid's first goal for the club.

Sorry I worded my post wrong...
Should have said...no BBC station broadcast league games over the Internet due to contractual reasons...
The premiership and indipendant radio station may well be different and have bought a licience to broadcast.
 
Maybe follow the BBC text commentary while photographing the game...will give scorers name and time of goal then
 
Shame you can't listen to the referee like you can at the Rugby.
 
Ideally wanted to listen and not read.
