At least for the foreseeable future, Scottish government has put a moratorium on planning permission (the only way they can stop it) for all fracking applications. This until a "full public health impact assessment" has been carried out. Also there will be public consultation on all unconventional oil and gas extraction. - Fergus Ewing

Who's gonna be the first to say that's fracking good news?
Oh wait a minute ............... :D

I must admit that I am also "suspicious" of it ;)

We will drill through from England.

I watched a thing about fusion reactors yesterday. raping the planet for fossil fuels is hopefully soon to be looked back on with a palm slap

I think you might mean 'burgeoning' but I could be wrong...

With the current low oil price, I'm not sure fracking is worth the expenditure it would take to extract the oil.

Wish the same applied all over the UK
fracking is a good idea in principle but it hasn't been thought through properly yet , too many unknowns and possible risks
as for Cameron allowing companies to frack under housing without owners permission thats so wrong

I saw the title to this thread and thought "how are they going to police that?" then I realised it said FRACKING - I really must get to specsavers ...

On a more serious note two recent applications were refused in Lancashire, I don't think we understand enough about the risks yet to make informed decisions. I doubt that matters to some though as they see it as an opportunity to make money and are unconcerned about any possible ramifications. Injecting water under high pressure into the ground with the intent to rupture or fracture the ground structure doesn't on the face of it seem sensible to me, but then what do I know?
