"no data available" for Royal Mail Track and Trace? Possible solution

This came in useful for someone on the Classifieds forum, so I thought I'd post it here too.

If anyone has had "no data available" or a similar unhelpful status for a tracked parcel on royalmail.com (aka http://www.royalmail.com/track-trace ) then try http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails - they appear to be two separate systems. When the former gave me "no data", the latter gave me a full track history from Edinburgh to Cardiff for me, and it similarly worked for someone on Classifieds.

Thans for posting this Keith. The last time I used RMSD was around 2 weeks ago and although I know the item was delivered there was, and still is, 'no data available' on the track & trace website.
