Hi Guys

I've just got a cheapy Kaavie wireless trigger for my flash. However I didn't read the full description and apparently it wont work with my flash without a firmware update.

The Nissin site talks about having to send it away to get the firmware updated, which seems a bit daft seeing as there's a USB port on the flash. Has anyone managed to update the firmware one of these themselves?
 
I thought you could download the firmware from the nissin site

Thank you for your mail and purchasing Nissin Di866 Mark II for Nikon.

Di866 Mark II for Nikon is designed and being to be tested on compatible
Nikon DSLR cameras. Currently we don't have the firmware update is available
for this model.

However, Nissin Di866 Mark II can support X-Contact (Center Pin) in Manual
mode. Can work with the radio trigger in market which can support X-Contact
trigger.

For the compatibility Flash model of your radio trigger, please be kindly to
contact to the radio trigger manufacturer for the detail information.

So it basically looks like the triggers that I got are going to have to go back!

Serves me right for not reading the description, but I guess I just assumed it would work.....


So has anyone any recommendations for cheap triggers that will work with this flash?
 
Looks like those triggers are designed specifically for studio strobes and not speedlights.

I use Phottix Odin and Phottix Strato II Multi triggers with my Nissin Di866 MKII without any problems.
