The Nissin Di622 won't work with remote triggers until it's had a "Firmware Update"

I thought that this would be a complete pain in the butt, but it transpires that after firing an email off to Kenro they do it for free. so mine's being sent off later this week! :)

does anyone know if the Di622 will work with ANY remote trigger AFTER the Update? e.g. the PT-04, etc...

and if not, are there any recommendations of what to stay away from or what to go for? cheers TPers!

The reports I've seen suggest it's still hit-or-miss as to what triggers the Di622 will work with after the upgrade - some report full compatability and others seem to still have problems....

Which ones work then?

Does anyone know if the Di866 triggers the Di622? One would hope so seeing as they are related! Thanks

It's got to! That's the Nissin master unit that will control and trigger any remote E-TTL gun

And welcome to TP :)

I don't guarantee compatability with any Nissin (or Sigma) guns. I'll maybe try and pick a Di622 up so that I can test the new triggers as they come onto the market, as this question/problem crops up quite regularly.

you could always send them to me, Flash, then if they work i'll send you payment and if they don't i'll send them back to you???

If you can use a soldering iron, have a look on u tube for Di622 wireless trigger conversion. Intersting. Mint flash on camera, but i ahve nothing but chew with mine as a slave unit, two firm ware updates and still only works when it wants to. Its now a back up.:bonk:

yeah, i'm fairly handy with a soldering iron, but if Kenro do it for free

do you use a wireless trigger, from D300 in-camera controller, or another means?

Saving up for a SB900 and 800 at the mo so am just using a pt04 trigger and Jessops 360AFDN strobes. Works fine for the mo but am looking forward to using the commander mode.

so after the firmware upgrade, does the Di622 work with the PT04 (kinda)?

NO, the firm ware update was to get the flash working back as a slave flash. When I first got it, it worked as a slave with no problems - even triggered from about 20 feet away with a sony ericson camera phone flash. Then it packed up about 3 weeks after I got it. I took it back to the shop. They tried it in the shop, compared it to another Di622 and finally admitted there was a fault. 4 weeks away at kenro - the official importer. Got it back, worked fine for another 5 weeks. I now just use it as an on camera flash as it is quite a powerful unit. I bought a Jessops flash fot the off camera work.
