Anyone got one of these?

I was looking to upgrade from a Yongnuo 560 as I'm starting to get overheating and misfires, even though its less than 6 months old.

Is the build quality up there with the pro flashes?

Would be nice to hear some feedback Ive been thinking about one of theses! Theyre under £100 on 7dayshop as well

It said £179 yesterday as well and its the mk 1

I think slimbean muddle up the model numbers.

I got one for myself as an Xmas present today (HK import). I'll post back with some comments when it arrives.

There are some raving reviews out there. I haven't used any of the e-TTL functions yet, but TTL bounce worked fine.

I find the display annoying, as it takes longer to switch functions than on other flash guns. The optical slave is miles better than the one on the YN560. Build feels as solid as an SB-80dx.

Right guys, I have one! Nikon version.
What would you like to know?

Cheers for any help Sebastian and Mike.

All I was worried about was whether there were any issues with build quality.

Like I mentioned in my OP, my only experience with flash guns are Yongnuos, where even the more expensive 560 suffers from overheating and misfires.

I will be using it in Manual mode mostly, so not really worried about TTL and menu systems. I was looking for 'bang for buck' and extended use performance.

Is the build comparable to Nikon/Canon own flashes?

I'm using it now as my main strobist flash. The most powerful device I've ever had.
Manual mode works great. I actually like Nissin menu, makes sense after few minutes of playing with it.
It's compatible with CLS (very nice surprise!) and can be triggered by PT04 triggers or optically.
I never had any issues with overheating. Recycle times are very good.

I had the money to buy any flash, but after testing all 4 options (please refer to the link posted earlier) I've picked Nissin.

Awesome flash!

I would like to suggest buying from Digital Depot. You will get second year of warranty from the shop! That's where I bought mine

Thanks again. Sadly its already been dispatched. :bang:

Maybe a 2nd one in a few months to complement it. :D

Sorry I was getting mixed up with the price of the Di622 :gag:

I have di886 coming for xmas from the mrs, needless to say she hasn't wrapped it up yet so I have had a lot of time messing about with it when she's not about..

but from what I have seen it's well made and looks like it will be be easy to understand and use..(thanks mrs )

Steve.

I have this flash.. havent used it an awfull lot yet but its certainely got power and the bounce & manual works nicely.. I went with it over the jessop own brand as i actually liked the screen, the high speed sync and the multi flash modes.. the secondary flash on the front however is a little too strong for its own good and i tend to keep it switched off. The newer model (mk2 ) should have a metal shoe though i dont think mine does.. still, it feels sturdy to me!

will try to put something more detailed up when ive sussed it out properly
