I've decided to buy a nissin 622 mark ii for Canon, but the question now is where from!

Onestopdigital seem to be cheapest, but HK based.
Then there's ebay


Has anyone bought a Nissin flash, from a dealer they could recommend?
 
I've just got the same from the same ebay outlet as above, ordered sunday night and delivered on tuesday morning. Excellent flash, nearly got a suntan when I tried it on full power. Seems more powerful than my Di866. For what it's capable of, at £95, delivered in 2 days you really cant go wrong.

Was the more powerful then the 866 an exaggeration or serious?
 
Well from about 2 feet away I pressed the pilot button by mistake while it was on full power and not only did I see a big green blob for the next 20 minutes or so I felt the heat on my face that was generated. I'm not volunteering to do a similar test with the 866 to compare but it was pretty powerful.

Check Camera World - I bought my Nissin from there for about £80.

are you sure you have bought the MK2, the MK1 was £95 the MK2 £115
 
To round off this thread, bought the nissin 622 mk 2 from a HK seller. £85 from ebay, and was lucky not to receive any duty fees.

It was definately the MkII I got, but that was about 2 months ago and prices have definately gone up since. I got a Canon 580EX II at the start of november for £302, when I checked just before christmas they were up to £399. Quite a hike in a month and a half. But believe it or not, Ive just checked at 20.27 on the 6th Jan and they are priced at £302.99 + £7.99 p&p now. Quite a drop now christmas has gone.
