Nissan Note - Opinions, & auto or manual?

A lot of math needs to be done on the petrol/diesel issue nowadays. With modern petrol cars getting very good MPG and diesel costing more at the pump it become difficult to decide.

I own a diesel micra, 10 years old in october and bought from new, not sure if its cost me more or less in fuel. I would have another Nissan, but only one made in Sunderland not the Indian crap micra of today. Pretty sure the note is a Sunderland car, also if a new note is due, your going to get some bargains on the current model soon, wait till the new one is in the showroom then look for unregistered previous version.

Ended up going for a Citroen C3 Picasso VTR+ diesel HDI :)

Only been a couple of days (Got it on Monday), but so far so good. Seems huge after coming from 3 Vauxhall Corsas since passing my test in 1998 lol :D

In the manual/handbook, it says the HDI 90 isn't fitted with a DPF but the HDI 110 does. When I Googled it, it says that if the engine is a euro 4, then it will not have one. If it's a euro 5, then it will.

Can anyone confirm this, as there doesn't seem to be a DPF warning light or indication, either in the vehicle or in the handbook. Does that mean that there isn't one, or if there is a problem then it will just flag up with the generic, "check engine" light?

How can I check whether or not mine has a DPF or not?

hope you enjoy your new motor
my missus test drove the note a year or two ago, she hated it, seemed practical but....
I didn't even bother getting behind the wheel after seeing her face (who wasn't going to be too picky about cars and didn't need anything particularly special) :p

If your hdi engine is the same one as the Peugeot 306 90 hdi then I can confirm it has no dpf, I had a Peugeot 306 and it done me for over 200,000 miles before I gave it to my brother in law as a run around work horse.
Fantastic engine that if you look after it will look after you for years to come.

Edit, just re-read your post please forgive me I'm tired!
Best way to find out is to pop to your local Citroen dealer and ask them if it has a dpf, they will know just from the reg number.
