I thought I'd done a repost when I read the notification email. I'm sat there thinking "I could of sworn I'd read the whole tread. How did I miss someone else posting that?" :D
 
The problem is that Nintendo actually issued an announcement a few months back, saying that they weren't going to be able to meet demand over the xmas period.

At that point most places had Wii's in stock. So anyone who frequented games sites, and saw the announcement, rushed out and bought as many as they could to put on EBay around about now! Bit cheeky, but given that they can easily double their money, you can't really blame them...

What does bug me is that in the majority of shops, when they do get stock in, won't sell you the basic £180 console. Instead they only give you the option of buying it as part of a £300 bundle! Cheeky sods.

It doesn't really affect me, I've had mine since March, but it annoys me that they're fleecing parents who are just trying to sort out xmas for their kids! :nono:
 
another way of looking at it is to what lengths parents go to for their kids...regardless of cost! staggering in some cases
 
ive got one getting delivered on monday from argos.
you have to ask at the enquirery counter
there not selling on the internet
you have to ask. its because of the ebay sellers ripping people of at christmas
i wish them all a very merry christmas from all those people who can,t afford those high prices
 
had a scammer try and buy two off me on ebay.. lucky i can spot them a mile off
'oh please sent it right away, my boy needs it for his birthday tomorrow'
err really? so why when i search on ebay have you bought about 6 altogether
i decided not to post it this morning. when i got home there was a message from paypal saying the account was stolen. I still replied back to her and told her i'd sent it

Everywhere i've been seems to have stacks of ps3's :p.

I Had all this hassle at launch last year! but to cheer myself up i've spent all afternoon playing Guitar Hero 3!
 
My local Costco had hundreds of Wii's on Saturday.
 
Lol, i got one on Friday... straight on Ebay. :)

^^^ The Avonmouth store. It works out just under the rrp price with VAT. Stock moves fast there though. They had an offer on satnavs one week. I went up in the morning and saw it, went home and checked the price online and thought what a bargin. Went back up there and they had all gone, must of been about 200 in 2hours!

Thats the thing about those consoles in costco, they are always so close to the RRP price and hardly worth buying to sell (i mean in a normal situation where you sell for RRP).
In fact most electronics in costco are very close to the RRP
 
Give your kids a bag of marbles and a wooden spinning top and tell them you're all going retro and they should be grateful they actually have a childhood and don't have to work like slaves like all the Iraqi and Afghan kids I see on my travels.
 
Not surprised at them prices, they can keep them.
 
my best mate went into gamestation Middlesbrough this afternoon and got the wii with wii sports + 3 games of his choice for £299
