Does anyone know if the 50mm has a sweet spot? I'm thinking of giving it a go over the weekend, taking a trip to the lake district and contemplating using the 50 for some landscaping.

I've tried my Sigma 10-20 at F8 as I've read that's its 'sweet spot', but what about the 50?

Hang on... landscape needs to be at stopped down further than f/4.

If you want decent sharpness, near middle far, you'll be at f/11 minimum, up to f/13 before you hit diffraction.

You want to maximise you depth of field for sharpness near, middle and far.

Obviously, if your doing landscapes, f4 is not ideal but it is the "sweet spot" of this lens..
