Nikons are too small, Canons are too cheap

Yeah - I wouldn't bother with the likes of the Sony 700 or 900, I mean they do everything you want, have a great menu system, paired with the ziess or G glass they are superb not forgetting the whole range of the Minolta / Konica glass available. . . . .

Just go and buy a Canon or Nikon and join the flock

That last item was a particularly expensive mistake!

I'm sure the cameras are excellent though. Up until recently I found my Sony DCF-F707 compact out performs many contemporaries.

If you wan't the feel of a well put together camera by a secondhand 1d/1D's model they don't feel cheap and feel more like the old film models
