An interesting image. Not quite been blue to work out what’s going on here, but I like it.
I might have been tempted to either clone out or crop out the left hand corners where there appears to be some light coming 8n against whatever the background is.

I agree with Simon that this is an interesting image and I like it as well. For me it's interesting for what you could do with it. I can imagine cloning out the sky and having the skylight look out to an underwater scene or the milky way. Many possibilities!

I thought at first glance it was a porthole. It's good that you made us think.

Thanks Simon. The shot is looking up at a sky light in my local shopping centre, and I did consider cropping out the light sources at the edges, but ultimately left them in as I thought they added a certain amount of symmetry to the shot.

Good shout thanks. I might have a go at that :)

I like the contrasts in the image. If the reflection of the window bars were cloned out, the background would really suck you in

Alley - I like how you have captured the light reflecting in the puddles. Are the lights different colours due to the type of bulb? The second one definitely conveys a moody scene

Heavy - lots of interesting patterns and plenty to keep you occupied, is it my eyes or does it need rotated slightly to the right?

Light - Two minds whether the shadows at the left top/bottom add or detract. Personally I would have tried the perspective tool to stretch the image to see who it looked without them.

Thanks Stuart.

Alley. Yes there were different types of bulbs in the street lights. Some had recently been replaced by the local council.

Heavy. I don’t think so ( I did straighten in editing), but maybe my eyes aren’t what they once were :D

Light. It didn’t occur to me to use the perspective tool to be honest. I may have a play around with it to see how it looks.

Thanks for taking the time to comment on these.

I’m really disappointed, when I first saw this I thought this was in your house and was full of administration lol. Great shot in noticing this and executing. To get that exposed properly must have been a challenge.

I WISH I had a skylight like that in my house :) Thanks, but you give me too much credit. Just a few little editing tweaks as there was such a large dynamic range.

I managed to venture out last minute tonight, and got something close to what I had in mind. I think I managed to find the last piece of damp tarmac in my area :D

Anyway, hope you like it. 1/50 @ 8000iso. Damp + the reflection Tech!

I think this theme is the most I've seen the tech also completed with!
The patterns created by the lights are interesting, I can't decide if it's improved with a crop from the bottom to bring the reflections closer.

Thanks Stuart. I guess the damp theme just lends itself to reflections very easily. I think even if the tech wasn’t for reflections I probably would have included them anyway :)
