Hi, need another card for the Z8 stills photography, already have Lexar Gold 64 & 128GB but going to Mull next year for 4 days (one 4 hour trip in the Mull Charters boat) will be wandering around rest of the time, not sure if 64+128GB will be enough for stills, don't want to go OTT on price as (1) can't afford to and (2) probably won't do anything like it again to justify the cost of another £100+ card so looking at the 128GB or 512GB Lexar Silver cards, never had any problems with the Gold cards but can get the larger GB Silver for a lot less than a smaller capacity Gold.
Any users of the Silver cards in the Z8 or 9?
Thank You.
Have a good Christmas.
Russ.

Not used the silver cards but I mostly buy mine from cex.co.uk or mpb now. Never had any problems and you can always return them if you want (just be aware that cex will refund in vouchers!).
They're usually half the price of brand new ones.

I have a silver 256Gb silver card in my Z8 but not used it yet. Given that I don't use my cameras for video or do sustained fast FPS and that the silver has the same performance as a Gold would've had just a few short years ago I think you would be fine.

Hi - just wondering if you went with the silver card? Still trying to choose one myself, (my Sony tough v90 sd card seems to be working okay for now).

The silver 512 seems to be the best value and according to this article - a good choice

But then I keep thinking just buy the delkin black as everyone recommends and have done with it…
But spending ludicrous money on such a boring albeit vital part of photography is tedious.

Purchased the 256GB silver had it out three times now for still photography not video taken around 1500 images seems to cope well with the 20FPS on the Z8 but no expert on these things. Russ.

I'm using the same card in my Z8, I've not used it for video just stills but it works fine at 30fps.
