Nikon Z* mirrorless

I have the adapter, but the 50mm doesn’t sound right on both the ZF and Z8 so wanted to try it on an older body. I am also seeing some fogging when I connect to the adapter on the back element of the lens, so it’s another reason why I wanted to try it on a dslr body.
Looks like a trip to WEX is called for I am sure they will have some secondhand Nikons available to test with. The D series bodies do make for a smaller package when compared to the Z bodies with Z lenses.

few of the things that nearly stopped me buying the Z6ii were my lad saying there's no bird i.d , its only 25mp and its not fast enough for b.i.f .. glad I didn't listen

Reckon you could use a coke bottle and a magnifying glass and still get awesome bird pictures, Jeff. Bravo!
It is all about the fieldcraft, get close, take the picture and as long as it is correctly exposed and composed it is a winner.
I do not have the patience or the fieldcraft to get close, so I just I just sit in wonder!
Enjoy the skills of others and improve if you can.

QQ, does anyone have the link to the Viltrox warranty website, so I can register my lens?

How you finding the camera, mate?
It's lovely, totally suitable for photography, ergonomics are great, no additional grip, balances well with the 24-120 and equally as good with a small prime. Probably get a cage at some point but waiting for something better than the small rig and tilta.

Just getting to grips with the R3D video files which are huge.

Fits into my small Wotan Craft pilot bag with the 24-120 attached which is a bonus.

The new 24-105 looks a great addition to the line up, at first I thought why as they have the amazing 24-120 F4 but looking at the specs its almost half the weight at 350g and not too expensive which tends to happen on newly released lenses

I take it you've primarily bought it for video? I liked the idea of one for photography as a smaller second camera to go with the Z8 but I think I'd be better waiting to see if Nikon release a more stills orientated camera to rival the Sony A7C series.

I'm doing more video and got a couple of projects coming up but it also replaces a photography orientated camera. I can't see why Nikon would release anything else when they already have the Z5II and ZF. The other major reason I went this route is the screen, has to be seen to be believed, just stunning.

This is worth a watch.

Doesn’t look good at all really when it’s 7.1 at 105mm and the price is over £500.

I think that new 24-105mm f/4-7.1 is pretty good travel lens overall. Of course we need to see reviews and how IQ looks like, but its amazingly light and give good reach on trips on daylight. Especially for cameras like Zf, Z5.
On my trips in daylight I should f8 anyway, S version was always too big, heavy and expensive for me, so this sounds like a good option.
Only thing is, id ont know if I should go with this or 24-200. 24-200 is heavier, plus I dont know if i will need that long end, maybe in few instances, but not worth having it and carrying it all the time, when I would probably use 24-70 or 24-105mm max.

It’s a kit lens and will probably be about £350 in real terms when sold with a Z5ii. I can see it struggling on the 47mp cameras unless in DX but the early reviewers seem to like it.

To give a smaller body, Sony have many mirrorless cameras yet looking at some of the sales charts it's the A7C series which are their best sellers - the ZR is closer but the A7C cameras are still a good bit smaller than any Z-mount body.

Hi all.

Anyone here use(d) the Tamron 70-300.? I’ve Googled it to death and it seems a decent choice to go with my Z5ii, 16-30 and 24-120. Light, fairly inexpensive and apparently decent quality. It’ll most likely be the least used of the three lenses so I don’t see a downside.

Any thoughts or suggestions of alternatives? (I’ve decided against the 24-200.)

Thanks.

QQ to all the peeps out there that use the 180-600MM, that use the ROLNAPRO CAMO LENS PROTECTOR. How the hell do you fit the foot cover, I just cannot get it to fit round the strap lugs and fasten to the Velcro properly .

HI all. Before I go to the effort of creating new for sale threads for the below items, I wanted to gauge if there was any interest in the below. If so, please state which and I'll create a for sale thread with all relevant photos etc. I'ave already had sale prices from various companies, and if no interest here in a week or so, I'll ship them off.

So I have for sale

Nikon AF-S 500mm f5.6E PF ED VR Lens - Boxed with all accessories - hardly used and purchased by me new in the UK. About as mint as you are going to find this lens and razor sharp.

Nikon AF-S 300mm f4E PF VR Lens - Boxed with all accessories - hardly used and purchased by me new in the UK. About as mint as you are going to find this lens and razor sharp.

Nikon TC 14E III - Teleconverter - In excellent condition. Purchased new in the UK by me some years ago. Currently unboxed by I do think I have the box in theft (I'll look)

Nikon Z30 with 16-50 lens kit. In mint condition. Fully boxed with all accessories and including 3rd party battery charger and 2 aftermarket batteries (as well as the original Nikon one). Also has the SmallRig hot shoe mounted wind muffler for the microphones.

Nikon 12-28mm f3.5-5.6 PZ VR DX Z lens - this was an impulse purchase by me brand new 18 months ago for the Z30 above, and the lens has never left the house. Absolutelty mint and fully boxed etc.

Just let me know please and I'll create a proper for sale thread in the Nikon section for anything anyone is interested in ?
