Can someone that has the 180-600mm tell me the best camo brand to purchase?

Been mulling over different bodies over the weekend, , I’m hovering on getting the z6ii despite its shortcomings. I only normally do wildlife mainly birds , I’m aware that it doesn’t have bird I.d , but it does take XQD cards which I have .. it’s nice and light weight , it’s only 25mp but if I go for th3 45mp models I would likely have to upgrade my computer as well .
I have a fair selection of f mount lenses in fx 200-500, 70-200 f4 , 85mm f1.8 ,sigma 150mm macro. And a few more
I will be retaining my Olympus gear so I’m not that bothered over bird I.d when needed but I love the resolution of the Nikon lenses .
So good deal or not ???

Sod it took the plunge just bought one from Wex rated 9+ mint with 500 shutter count . Totally everything included .. will borrow my lads ftz adaptor till I get my own

So I just upgraded to a Z5ii. From a D300... The difference is just, astonishing. Went with the 24-200mm, as I wanted an all-in-one lens for travel - plan is to add the 180-600mm in the future for wildlife/airshows, and maybe a macro lens.

There's a quite a few decent looking setup guides on YouTube - any opinions on some of the better ones?

Question to all those that have the Nikon 180-600mm. Have you kept the same foot and just added a long Arca plate or have you changed out the collar? Also, I am looking at the “Lance” 3 Legged Thing monopod with the Docx Foot added. Do you just attach the current foot that comes as standard to the head of the monopod or do you use a ball head, if so which do you recommend ?

@the black fox, great photos. thanks for sharing your exif data on Flickr.

I have the Nikon Z6ii and 50mm 1.8 Prime. you have inspired me !!

Same foot with one of these, found needed the long plate to balance the lens on gimbal. Russ.

I have spent the afternoon setting up camera for. Wildlife via watching reviews on u.tube ( Steve berry is best) now updated firmware to newest version , enabled focus tracking etc ..
Will hopefully have a test run tomorrow with the local gull population .. only thing I don’t like is BBF got it enabled but will probably change back to just front shutter focus . Camera is now sporting my 200-500mm f5.6 VR and I hopefully have a 1.4 mkiii tc in the post . That should make up for the crop body d500 differences . First batch from camera have looked good so it’s now a learning curve . Also enabled silent electronic shutter .. and we shall soon see if having no bird I.d is a hindrance or not .. if it proves irrelevant then this cameras a steal in brand new condition for £800

It's good how older lenses produce better results on a mirrorless body.

A D600/610 will be about the same size as your Zf. Have you considered a FTZ adapter as then you could use the 50mm f1.8 G (I think that lens is AFS, which is required for AF to work on the FTZ adapter) and then you can use on the Zf or Z8.

I have the adapter, but the 50mm doesn’t sound right on both the ZF and Z8 so wanted to try it on an older body. I am also seeing some fogging when I connect to the adapter on the back element of the lens, so it’s another reason why I wanted to try it on a dslr body.
