Who's using F mount lenses on a z mount camera via the adaptor? What's your thoughts?
No issues here, been using the 70-200 f2.8 VR2, 24-70 f2.8 and the Tampon 17-35.Who's using F mount lenses on a z mount camera via the adaptor? What's your thoughts?
I have used my 300mm f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 and they work fine for me. I haven't tried the 14-24 f2.8 or 24-70 f2.8 but have no reason to think they will not work well.Who's using F mount lenses on a z mount camera via the adaptor? What's your thoughts?

Sounds like you now need a good 58G lens@chris321 @sep9001 @jknights
Just ordered a Z9 and adaptor...I hope you know what you've made me do!
I currently have 2 D5s and a D850 with the F mount 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 300 4.0 PF and a 400 2.8
I used to have a load of Fuji stuff and I miss the WYSIWYG ellement and the spread of focus points...Back on the slippery slope!![]()
Enjoy your new camera when it arrives.@chris321 @sep9001 @jknights

you should wait few weeks - they releasing new version now, Pro plus, that will cover also old Sony A lens.I’ve just ordered the Megadap ETZ21 Pro to use my Sony lenses on my ZF.
I am sure you will enjoy the Z9 and your old lenses will still work well on FTZ(2).@chris321 @sep9001 @jknights

My favourite lens on my Zf. Mind you I’m a sucker for fast glass. Love the look of it and what it produces. It can be prone to a bit of CA. I don’t care. I also have the kit 40mm f2. But only use it when I want to have AF.Can anyone give me a reason not to buy the
Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 Nokton Aspherical ?
Is it simply that good? What are your views?
Pixel Shift with Focus Shift or AE Bracketing:I'll be waiting a month or two before I update my z8![]()

Seems a long MFD to me. Nikon say it’s around 16inches.Please Help -- I'm in need of advice.
I have the Nikon Z6ii with a Nikon Z 50 mm 1.8 prime lens.
For my every day photography I am very satisfied with this combination.
However, I cannot get close to subjects, eg this Hydrangea flower.
This photo is cropped because the closest I can get is is about 30 inches.
What Z mount lens can I buy to get close enough to just take the flower - about 5 inches across - without needing to crop.
Any advice much appreciated.

Mine focusses at around 16 inches.Seems a long MFD to me. Nikon say it’s around 16inches.
I can't see anything of interest for me.Pixel Shift with Focus Shift or AE Bracketing:
Autofocus and Subject Detection Enhancements:
- The Z8 firmware 3.00 enables pixel-shift shooting combined with focus-shift or AE bracketing without external accessories.
- This allows for the creation of ultra-high-definition images with vast depth of field and dynamic range, suitable for various photography genres.
- The update also includes new folder options for automated file management during pixel-shift shooting.
Usability and Video Improvements:
- Users can now select a subject type for detection priority even in manual focus mode.
- Focusing defaults to maximum aperture in live view, improving precision.
- Custom wide-area AF patterns and a slower release mode for precise timing are also introduced.
- New in-body focus limiter allows users to define near and far focus distances to prevent unwanted focus hunting.
Other Notable Features:
- Firmware 3.00 adds a new [FINE] quality mode for High-Speed Frame Capture+ to enhance image quality.
- External microphones (wired or wireless) are supported for recording voice memos.
- Support for Flexible Color Picture Control allows users to create custom looks using Nikon's NX Studio and apply them to the camera.
- AWB lock from the first frame is available when using [Auto] or [Natural light auto].
- A new self-timer mode allows switching between standard settings and pixel-shift shooting even when using the self-timer.
- Zoom magnification has been increased to 400% for detailed image review.
- New custom wide-area AF patterns are introduced.
I would tend to agree as the plethora of new features probably hides several bugs, so there will be fixes released in the months following.
I dont shoot video so the attractive new features for me are:
If I did pixel shift photos the that might be interesting especially with the new folder options!
- Zoom magnification has been increased to 400% for detailed image review.
- New custom wide-area AF patterns are introduced.
Although, you won't get as close as fill the frame with something 5" (127mm) across with that lens, based on this photograph you should be able to get closer than you have. Please Help -- I'm in need of advice.

Can you do it in Pre Capture mode. I don’t have a Z9High / Low Frame Rate.
Is it possible to restrict the number of shots taken? A bit like in the bracketing mode where you keep the shutter pressed and it takes however many shots you've set.
I'd like to be able to set the camera at , say, 20 shots a second but only take a maximum of 10 shots no matter how long I keep the shutter pressed.
Can't find anything in the manual. (Z9 by the way.)
I dont think this is supported. I think you need just judge it!High / Low Frame Rate.
