Nikon Z* mirrorless

After months of trying to find a used D850 for a sensible price, after having to sell mine at the beginning of the pandemic, I ended up getting a good deal on a basically new (only 104 shots!) Z7, FTZ, 24-70 f4 and 120GB XQD last week, so now I've joined the club and have a lot to learn!

Over the last few months I've been picking up the odd bit at the right price when I could afford it, so have a 28mm f1.4 and a 105mm f1.4 to play with to get used to the new autofocus options, then a 24-70 f2.8 S came up for only £1377 new on eBay this week so I couldn't turn that down! Anyone need a basically new 24-70 f4?!

Lots of learning to do now! What are your best tips for someone after having moved from DSLR to Z series?

How much for the 24-70 f/4?

After a quick check on eBay I'd say £400 inc RMSD, it's boxed, complete with both caps and hood and look like new!
Just a reminder, NO SELLING on threads, use the classifieds area.

I think I might have a problem, I can't seem to stop using the 14-30f4

The wife and I have just got back from 8 days in Slovenia and it was far and away my most used lens!

Visiting my country :) hope you had a good time.

I've just picked up a new Z7 with 24-70f/4 and I've tried to have a look in this thread for CFexpress Type B card reader recommendations but it's laboursome and not finding much using the search options.

Is anyone using CFexpress Type B in their camera? If so what brand of card and what CFexpress reader are you using? I've got a Prograde 128GB CFexpress on its way and ordered the Prograde card reader from Amazon only to realise I ordered the UHS-II one by mistake. This was £71. After finding the right one it's £116! I know I subscribed to these cards but that's ridiculous for a reader, sheesh! I was looking at the Sandisk one on Amazon for £50 and a couple of answers are saying they're using Prograde with it and it's working fine and fast. I just wondered if anyone else has any recommendations before I buy that one (I know there's one in the classifieds but I'm using Amazon vouchers to buy it).

I still use the XQD cards. But if the Cfexpress readers are so expensive then I'd just connect a cable to the camera and transfer them that way.
I did look to see if that was an option but couldn't find anything. I'd be happy to do that so will look into it more.

I had XQD when I had my Z6 before going back to Fuji but I was able to find CFexpress for cheaper and it's faster (future proofing as I know the camera limits the speed). U thought my XQD reader would be able to read them but there's no update for it so I guess not this time. Thanks for the input!

I bought one of these last year, and it is brilliant. Feels very solid and has a great texture to it. However, more importantly, it is very fast at transferring data. I also use it with my prograde CFX cards so it will be a good match for you.

I did look at this one but found the fact there's 240 reviews and none of them from the UK odd so I steered clear. If you can vouch for it then it's on the list an an option :). Thanks!

I got one last year all good so far can’t remember where I got it from

Shooting bracketing mode on Z6. I’m confused, I choose to bracket 3 photos but the camera doesn’t take the 3 photos from one press of the shutter button.

What am I doing wrong?

I could be wrong but I don't believe it takes all three on a single press. I believe you have to press it three times. I've just read the manual and it doesn't allude to multiple shots on a single press.

Ah OK, thanks. I’ll give that a try - most cameras I’ve used bracketing on take the bracketed number of shots on one press. I’m guessing if I take each shot of the bracket it does actually bracket the photos!

This thread is dangerous. Z7 with 24-70 f/4, 14-30 f/4, CFexpress card and reader on its way.....anyone have any money I can have?

It'll take all three if you use the timer. I think you could use burst mode as well but you'd have to hold the shutter button down. I used to use burst mode for handheld bracketing on my D700 - maybe the Z series are the same.

Cheer mate, I need to experiment a bit and find out the best method. Much easier with the old X-H1
