The two girls manning the desk at Kingston are awesome - in fact the black girl is spectacular...

(can I say that?)

...and they answer the phones all day and deal with some customers who are utter Muppets...

Only if you are able to back it up with documentary evidence.

By which I mean a photo taken on straycat's camera.

 she reminds me of the druggie-painter-bloke's Girlfreind in series one of Heroes...

Citylink are often pronounced with a sh...

Non delivery and signing for items by the driver appear common, either they know the name of the goods in person, or if a home delivery the signature is a line. I've got to the point where I try to avoid anyone using this delivery service.

Hope it turns up soon. Sometimes it's shown between depots because someones not booked it in/out correctly and it's actually in the van on it's way to you.

I've never had a problem with CL. Must be lucky:shrug:

And quite rightly so, there such a bunch of cowboys it's unreal, when we had the snow last feb 2009 i was waiting for a delivery from Amazon, i knew it was supposed to come that day as i checked the tracking and it was on the van, i rang sh!tty link asking where it was, the receptionist told me they had stopped delivering due to the snow, despite the fact it had stopped the day before  anyway i said but i'm only 1.5 miles from the depot whats the problem, well sorry but that's the way it is she replied, i said ok i will be down in 10 minutes to pick it up myself, which i did, like yourself i try avoiding anyone who uses them, as i've had several bad experiences with them, although in the case of Amazon they use a few couriers so not always possible.

I use them on average once a month, never had a problem either. Two things to remember. If it says out for delivery, it's in the van on its way to you, but that doesn't mean anyone knows where the van actually is.
You have until 6pm for it to arrive.

That sounds like a manufaturing fault, so you would think it'd be covered. I all honesty car warranties are a joke, the only reason the likes of Kia can offer a 7-year one is that it excludes wear and tear and as 99% of failures can be put down to that then it's really worth no more than a 1 year warranty.

Indeed, however they would still like to argue the point so they don't have to pay for the replacement. Like I've previously said, I'm likely to go to Trading Standards.

Beyond going to Trading Standards or going through the courts (which costs money) there is very little that can be done.

citylink have lost it they dont know where and thats with track and trace

Thats happened to me on 3 or 4 occasions now with (SH)Citylink. A faulty surround sound system i returned "disappeared" luckily i had the proof of collection from a driver, and two parcels from scan.co.uk lost in transit, I had to deal with scan to get them resent and was told they had a lot of parcels disappearing from a certain depot and were instructing citylink not to route their parcels throught that depot, i now usually collect from a depot 15 mile away instaed of my local which is less than 2 miles away.

Anyway I hope your camera turns up for you.

I won't buy from anyone who uses CityLink as their preferred delivery company. I have had so much hassle with them! I work from home so I am at home all day every weekday. My office window has a view of the driveway so I can see everyone who arrives at the house. We also have a border Collie dog - the most effective doorbell/security system known to mankind. I have never missed a courier delivery yet.

However when I ordered some items from Amazon and they didn't arrive when they should have I tracked the parcels online and found that I had missed the delivery because I wasn't home! No problem I'll just wait for the re-delivery tomorrow. The next day I checked the tracking and they were "out for delivery" so I sat eagle-eyed waiting for the van to show up. At 6:30pm I checked the tracking again and found that once again I had missed the delivery because I wasn't home!

This happened for three different consignments and I had to go and collect them from the depot each time. At the depot I found a sizeable angry mob who were all in the same boat as me and were all hopping mad.

Inevitably the angry mob started to gang up on the City Link staff and I think they must have feared for their lives - it was a beautiful day

Amazon also use the equally disastrous Home Delivery Network. My mother's christmas present was "lost" (i.e. stolen) by them, I've "missed" deliveries in the same way you have, and I even found one of my deliveries halfway down my back garden and lodged in my flowers where it had been carelessly lobbed over my back gate in the same way that a fielder might return a cricket ball to the wicket keeper - all from Amazon and all "delivered" by HDN.

Useless delivery companies are costing online retailers dearly, and I've gone back to using high street shops where generally possible.

I have.

Nikon did me a freebie repair on the QT last year. Citylink never carded me (despite saying they had over 2 days), had to get the tracking via Nikon in then end and collect it myself.
