Nikon v Canon lens pricing

I have been looking at certain lenses for about 4 weeks now, and on a certain auction site Nikon lenses made by Sigma are a good 20% more expensive than the exact same lens for Canon, why, what makes Nikon variants more expensive than the others.
I am at a loss here watching them go for silly money................

Scarcity of Nikon mount variant compared to Canon???

Brand new I thought they were the same price!

SIGMA AF 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM identical price on e-infinity new.

SIGMA AF 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM Lens Art £40 cheaper for the Nikon model on same website.

Then you say Nikon versions are 20% cheaper on auction sites.

Makes no sense, seems like prices are all over the place rather than anything uniform.

Seriously as @Box Brownie says ... new they are (list) price the same. I think @GTG has it right its just natural variance.
