Morning all

I recently bought an "as new" nikon tc-20e iii teleconverter via eBay, it is in excellent condition and the optics seem to be spot on. The only slight issue I have is that there seems to be a rattle coming from inside - if you shake it gently from side to side it sounds as if something metallic is sliding around.

Having bought the thing on spec and never having owned or used one of these before I'm not sure whether the noise is normal - I'm fairly sure it's not, but wanted to get some opinions before I contact the seller.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Does the TC have the mechanical aperture linkages that would allow it to be used with older bodies/lenses? If so, it could be them flopping around.

Yeah they rattle, its the old style linkage for backwards compatibility.

Save yourself the petrol/bus fare.

Nothing to see here, move along

sounds suspect... go to a camera store to see if a new one rattles.... but can't be too far wrong if it works...

What tosh! There is an aperture linkage which until it has the spring pressure of the lens it rocks to a fro.

There is nothing wrong with it they all rattle I have one it rattles and thank goodness it does it's the linkage inside
