A story in The Asahi Shimbun, one of Japan's national newspapers, says that Nikon has taken the lead in digital SLR sales over the past six months in the Japanese market, assuming the top spot from perennial sales leader Canon. The article quotes a report by a Tokyo research firm that puts Nikon at 47.5-percent market share, vs 36.5-percent for Canon, from January to June 2007.

I don't care  the upside will hopefully be for us Canon users is that Canon being a little miffed at this will bring out more spectacular cameras with more gadgets and higher quality to take that market share back.....one can only hope with some outstanding replacement for the 30D is my wish at a price I can afford :D

I actually think the 30 D is the best dSLR Canon have produced.... the best in rounded tones and least sharpened....
