hi,

i just received an email to say that im the registered owner of a d7000, and that there is a nrw download to update the hardware of my camera.
i am a d7000 owner, from new and just wondering if this email is genuine and if the software is actually going to improve anything ?

If the link in the email takes you to the Nikon support website then yep it is genuine - I received an email re my D600

I received one yesterday, I've not upgraded yet as I have a wedding tomorrow & don't won't to chance anything technical going wrong. :-/

If you're suspicious, go directly to the Nikon support site and download the firmware upgrade from there instead of following links from the email.

There were posts in the Equipment section yesterday about the new D7000 firmware (and the email announcement).
