Does anyone know if a new D610 would still suffer with the contaminated shutter issue that it had before? They can still be bought brand new and I wondered if it would be worth the gamble.

I've had a D600 for 7 years now, and the sensor has only seen the usual dust that any DSR would get. The contamination issue was really just limited to a relatively very small number of cameras, Nikon had a free fix/replacment scheme going for several years, and yes, the D610 was brought out to 'rescue' the model (with a couple of very small differences). The D600/610 is an excellent camera. Fears of the contamination issue mean that used D600 prices tend to be relatively very low. So you can find loads of perfectly good bargains with no issues at all. I'd be surprised if there's any 'bad' ones out there any more, really. Or spend a bit more and get a D610 if you want peace of mind.
