Hi

I currently have two SB 800 speedlites and they seem to work well. The thing that bugs me about the, however, is the long recycle charge. How does the Godox TT350N compare? Is it just as good a flash or better? I have noticed the Godox is significantly cheaper then the Nikon. Or any other Godox flash you recommend? Many thanks.

The TT350 only takes two batteries so recycle time is likely to suffer as a result. The TT685N is a more direct equivalent to the SB800 and the Li-powered version, the V860II-N, will probably improve recycling time.

Ravinder - have you thought about getting a battery pack -

I got one for my SB900 and it is brilliant for fast recycling. There are warnings about using a flash too many times and too fast which can cause problems with overheating, so be warned, but I've never had any problems, and it gives almost instant recycling at anything less than full power for a few flashes.

That's great, thanks. I didn't know such a thing was available. I have changed my batteries to some Eneloop ones which have made a slight difference but the recycle charge could still be better.

A pleasure - they are expensive for what they are but you may find a cheaper one (I think I paid closer to £30 for mine) and so worth it if you need fast recycling. Eneloops seem to be among the best and last, but again, are not the cheap option...
