Has anyone used or heard anything about what the SB-700 is like?

I currently have the SB-600 and find i sometimes struggle for power and recycle times, so i am looking at upgrading to the SB-700, SB-800 or SB-900

I dont want to spend too much, preferably nearer the £200 mark,

What reccomedations do you people have?

Cheers
James

I think the SB700 is slightly less powerful than the SB600, so you might want to save up for the SB900...

I'd agree with this, have read a few reviews that say the 700 is slightly less powerful than the 600, looks like the 900 is the way to go if you can afford it...

What about the sb 800??

I think the SB800 became very popular with the strobist groups a while back, and fetch quite a pretty penny second hand these days (couple on ebay for around the £150 mark). Although it is a great flash, you would probably be better off with a new SB700, as it would be easier to use. Ive heard a lot from people that use the 800, that say the menus are REALLY confusing. I only have an SB900 myself, so cannot confirm about how complex the 800 is.

Cheers for the advise, i have a mate who uses the SB-800, and i know he is very impressed with it, the power from it seems to be substantially more than the 600, but was wondering what the sb-700 is like compared to the sb-800 for recharge times and power?

There is big size difference between the SB 700 & SB 900 properly won’t be too bad on your camera but for mine I had to get the SB700.

The SB700 is a superb flash and very user friendly.
There are reviews and Youtube vids. out there, I've never really seen anything negative written about it.
I'm sure you would be very happy with one.
