Is there any way to stop the SB-600 from going into standby mode? When it's on the camera, it's not a problem, as it 'wakes up' when you focus the lens. However, when I have it on a third-party IR receiver, by the time I've returned to the camera after setting it up, it's on standby and so doesn't fire when triggered.

Thanks.

hi ian
h'mm odd one that according to the good book ( page 21 )
quote

the standby function does not work in the wireless flash mode ..

ive just tried mine and 5 minutes later it still is not in standby

so is it because of your IR receiver ??

I don't think so. Thinking about it, my triggers are radio not infra-red - my mistake. Perhaps if I set the unit to wireless mode, then it won't go on standby.

Cheers.

scroll through CSM until you come to stby... you then have the choice of auto or - - .- - the morse code being off.

I'm an idiot - I didn't even know it had the CSM!! I've read the manual and it makes sense now! Thanks again.
