Nikon SB 400 Flashgun

Apologies to experienced members if this price isn't anything special but have been looking for the above flashgun since I got my new camera a couple of weeks back.

After Googling today I have picked it up from Simply Electronics for 79.63today with free delivery.

There were plenty of three figure prices for this during my search so am hoping I have got a good deal.

Anybody used Simply & had any issues ?

If you type Simply into the search engine here, or google you'll get plenty of hits.

I often why people ask these questions after parting with their money and not before!

You'll probably get it eventually, but it'll be a Grey Import, and it'll come from Hong Kong. The price is about right, not a bargain, not over-priced.

Can you give me any advice on how to tell if it is a grey import when (if) it arrives.

I must admit I thought I had heard of Simply in other areas other than photography so didn't give any thought to the fact it might not be anything other than advertised. I would much prefer to pay extra and know I had got the real deal.

If it isn't a genuine UK model how do you think I will get on returning it.

Well the chances are they haven't shipped it, and won't for several days so you could probably cancel.

With regards to "genuine UK model" its worth pointing out there is no such thing as a UK model - its only down to warranty that denotes this. You will have no warranty on a grey imported flash unit, apart from with Simply. However IMHO a "seller warranty" is worthless as in this day and age, sellers can just go "poof!" and you're stuffed.
