I don't know if anyone has had the same experience but when I was in the Caribbean the constant heat expanded the lens "rubber" grip on my Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f2,8G ED lens. It did it so much that I could almost slip it over the lens end. back now in the UK it has gone back to nearly normal. Surely this is something Nikon need to look into and use a different material?
I had the same with the body camera grip on my Nikon D300 and had to replace it
