Is there any difference between the Nikon ML-L3 that retails from between £15-20 and the far cheaper rip-off brands like the ones on Amazon for £2.50 for example? The reviews are mixed (as always!), but the price difference seems extreme for a relatively simple device. Anyone with any practical experience who has bought either/both? I much prefer the recommendations on here than on the Amazon review pages for example!

Many thanks.

I bought one of these cheap rip-off remotes of ebay and never worked, ended up buying the real deal and works great.

I got one from Ebay just recently, works just fine, maybe I was just lucky. I got it from here

Ill try and remember where I got my Nikon one form but I only paid about 7-8 quid rather than RRP. It has never missed a beat and works at a good range for the size of it.

lol

( the remote looks exactly like the original one from nikon the only difference is that this one says "For Nikon" instead of nikon. work like original one also)

thanks for the link, I was looking to buy one too in the next couple of days - I think for £3.80 I'll try it and see how it goes - if it works its a tenner saved

I've bought 2 ML-L3 copies from ebay (linky). the reason why I bought 2 was just incase I lost one....both work perfectly fine with no hassles

Bought a copy from ebay and everytime I got it out the battery had died and I had to go find a replacement. Found a nikon one for a tenner somewhere and never regretted it, still has the original battery in it after a year and never misses a shot.
