Nikon P510

Hi,

I am in the market for an upgrade for my trusty SX20is and was ready to buy an SX40HS but have just seen the Nikon P510 - wow, what a spec, along with geotagging as standard, just superb.

Has anyone seen one yet, or have any comments to add?

Don't know about the P510 but i have the P500 and its a brilliant camera.

Thanks for that. I wanted the Nikon when I bought the Canon but the salesman swayed me, and quite rightly at that time.

However, today, in my opinion the Nikon 510 has the edge on the SX40HS primarily because of the geotagging facility, something which I'm led to believe is a long way off for Canon, or anyone else for that matter.

Therefore I have a mint SX20is For Sale whilst I await the formal release of the Nikon...

Well I opted for the P510 and after just a short period of ownership I know I'm gonna love it.

The reason I swapped from the Canon was for the continuous mode (which is excellent) and for geotagging (personal choice).

I have to say however that having owned both the Canon (SX) and the Nikon (P510) there really is very little to choose between them and they are both brilliant for the average shooter like me.
