Nikon Nef Files

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if there is software that I can download so as I can open a Nef File from my Nikon D300?

Assuming you have windows, To view: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26829

Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture, etc will allow you also.

Nikon's own View NX2 is a free download. It's their fully featured picture editor which will unsurprisingly open .nef files.

I use the MS codec pack mainly so that I can view proper thumbnails in windows explorer. It's certainly well worth having for this reason alone.

Nikon View NX2 is also handy and I used this happily until I moved over to Lightroom 3 recently.

Whilst View NX2 is a good editor it has limitations and is not their "fully featured picture editor" - that's Capture NX2 (which is well worth its price).
