Nikon ML-3 remote - Curious to know are they worth it or not??

Whats peoples views on these - I know for the money that they're quite expensive but have seen one going for £109 new...

Are they really worth it :shrug:

Just curious on peoples thoughts on them really.....

:thinking: or should I stay with my yongnuo YN-126 wireless remote - thats been sitting in my camera bag unused.... Also :thinking: - saying that so has all of my camera gear :lol:

I picked up a remote from ebay. Cost a few quid, no where near Nikon's price. Works fine no problems ?

You can buy mine for £95 :)

To be honest though, I was VERY disappointed with it. Unless the trigger is pointing directly at the receiver it is very hit and miss as to whether it will fire the camera, and that is using it in a studio.

Yours for £85 delivered?? :D

Got a cheapy from eBay myself, cost 5 quid and does continuous and long exposure (Locks the shutter in place)
Works fine apart from the lock sticking but I can live with it for 5 quid.

Wireless remotes don't work with the D700 unless you have a receiver on it or a grip with a reciever inside it.

I don't have a D700 so can't be 100% sure if the Nikon ML-3 works with it, but as far as I'm aware it works with all Nikon cameras that have the 10-pin cable release socket, and definitely works on the following cameras D100 (grip), D2X, D300s & D3........ just not particularly well!!
 
:thinking: I think that some are getting the wrong end of the stick with what I am asking... :bang:

I already have a Yongnuo YN126 wireless remote which works perfectly well - all I'm asking is because I'm curious "is how good is the ML-3 & are they worth the money" :bonk:
 
Just bought one from Amazon, an original Nikon, for £13. Only tried a few shots with it but worked from the rear of the camera, but only tried from a couple of yards. Can see it being handy for long exposure shots.
 
Purchased an ML-3 as I didnt read the info properly....wanted it to do bulb....it dont....anyway....the way that it can use itself as a trigger is fantastic and the test shots I have tried easily give it 20 ft range.....other useful is that you can turn the reciever....small thing but I like it.......ended up buying a ML-30 yesterday to enable the lock function for bulb.....would recommend......but only if you can get a cheap one

Think you'll might find thats the ML-L3.....
