Nikon mirrorless definitely on the way

"The menus are the same, the handling is familiar, hows the EVF, its so great, were pros that have never looked through an EVF or understood the advantages, I can adjust my WB and trust it, ah yeah the silent shooting its so SHAmazing..... as a host Ill prompt and remind you about something you cant remember and you will agree with me."

Oh dear, this interview. :ROFLMAO:

They don't? What I'm getting from early reaction is that Nikon has done enough but we won't know for sure for a long time yet. The Nikon 1-series was an initial hit...

I don't.

I think I agree with the view that these are a generation behind the latest Sony III and the price is maybe a touch high. I'm slightly surprised you think they're competitive on both counts.

Well even my Sinar Norma and Chamonix 45F1 have two slots.......... In the DD's (Double Darkslide):LOL:

Could be. Or could be prudence? Unlike Sony etc, Nikon has got to 'manage' the transition to mirrorless and right now, DSLRs represent 100% of their income.

That was always going to be a tricky gig. Canon will be listening and learning... :)

So their plan to deal with a mirrorless appetite among their userbase is to release a mirrorless camera that will make many switch to other brands? I'm not following the logic. Since the z announcement, 3 friends have put in a7iii orders.

Or to manage the transition by side-sell it back to their DSLR.

If they stick with the same body, which they may not do, but if they do the Nikon chap said there was no space for a second card. Unless this really affects sales then I would think they would stick with the same sized camera body for any subsequent iterations of the Z6 and Z7.
In which case it's even a bigger balls up from Nikon. Why would you design a body from scratch that cannot take more than one card, ever?

The d750, as much as I loved it, was deliberately hamstrung. It's absolutely daft buy nikon do it over and over again.

.
In what way was the D750 hamstrung? IMO it's been one of the best bang for buck cameras there's ever been (y)

The battery suddenly is capable of over 1000 shots now, quit an upgrade overnight :D

They are Nikon Ambassador's, so I don't expect much negativity. Maybe when people start asking questions. As long as they let the right questions through. ;)

It's a right cringe fest, as I expected. Talk about sheer bias.

Its bloody hilarious esp David Flores, yeah guys, its so incredibles 010101010111, the accuracy of on sensor AF, EVF advantage, all the lenses adapted work like native (no they dont, they suck in bursts), battery life is insane for mirrorless (really?). Like you said cringe fest, maybe he was using an EP1 or GF1 and thought they were latest gen cams.

Demanding Nikon users would be wise to stick with their DSLRs for now.

You do realise that B&H sell cameras for a living and that Nikon is one of their major accounts! ;)

I do, I've been there ;) But now they're excusing the single card slot, whether they are Nikon rep's or whatever, they're over doing the praise and excuses for these cameras.

1/4000 max shutter speed. Truly awful buffer. Limited spread of af points.

Then there were the qc issues.

It's a brilliant camera but they did cut corners.

There we go - three pro's stating single XQD card slot is not an issue (One is a top Wedding photographer)!

Did you hear their excuses? One saying it doesn't matter because it'll be a back up to her D800's ... yeah, that's a great excuse, sure we all have a couple D800s :D the sports guy saying he has 'runners' who take the cards at various times and go back them up - these are atrocious excuses for a single card slot being ok.

The wedding photographer was the only one to not blow through the issue for me, she will continue to use the D850's but add the Z7. Why continue with the D850's if the Z7does everything that does! ;)

It is an advert, which I naively didn't expect it to be. :(

Wait, what? It has 1/4000th? Lol WTF, I never knew that, I think even my old 30D from 2008 or whatever for I cost like £600 does 1/8000th.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a DSLR that does 1/4000th.

If your friends are existing Nikon DSLR users with some investment in lenses (primary target market) and they've actually handed over the cash, then Nikon has made a serious mistake.

Edit: the name of the game is either they buy Z, or sit tight for now. Or do they all work for you and are just doing the sensible thing?

If you're liking it so much stop bloody complaining.....jeez!

You're the only one complaining from what i see, I'm just posting what they're saying because it's hilarious. Are you a Nikon fannyboy? you're acting a bit butt hurt there over nothing. I hope you never watch reviews, because you'll have a sissy fit when any negatives are pointed out.

Amazing - coming onto a camera thread just to bash a camera you have no intention of using - what at a wedding do you need more than 1/4000 sec for???

The Sony only has a native ISO of 100

QC issues were a bit of a gaff, BUT Nikon did deal with them very well imo. As for the other points, it was a £1750 FF camera at release, you can't expect D5 performance ;) As I said, great bang for buck (y)

Granted it wasn't ideal, but what people forget is that previous pro cameras (such as the D700) had 1/8000 shutter BUT base ISO was 200, so in terms of exposure this is no different to 1/4000 and ISO 100 and no one batted an eyelid about the D700 (it's still a great camera to this day). Add to this that the D750 has two low ISO settings and it really wasn't a hindrance in the real world.

Both the 6D and 6D-II shutters 'only' go up to 1/4000 too (y)

Are you upset I stated facts ?

Irrelevant pointless facts (from someone who hasn't even used the camera)! ISO 64 & 1/4000 shutter speed is fine :)

When did you last use an XQD card Raymond?

(Should I expect anything sensible from a person who thinks his budget £5 petrol station watch is better quality than a Rolex!!!)

Carry on spamming then!

I'm merely responding, though knowing you're a troll don't know why i bother. Maybe I find you hilarious having your sissy fits too? If you're not interested in actually discussing the camera why are you even in here?
