I'm thinking of replacing my 18-55mm Nikon kit lens i got a while back when i got my D50.
I was looking at the following
Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 XR Di-II LD ASP IF Lens - Nikon Fit
£274

Anyone got any other ideas?
 
Well general use really, like landscapes, general shooting, studio stuff maybe
I have the following lenses already
Sigma 70-300mm APO DG
Nikon 50mm 1.8
55-200mm nikon kit lens
 
i don't see the point in bothering changing the kit lens it's a good lens
 
yer but sometimes it's a bit slow for some of my needs, if not have you got any suggestions on a good lens i can get
 
no, sorry mate, not got into lenses yet really - the 70-300 was a christmas gift and i'm still playing with the 18-55 :)
 
The 50mm 1.8 is something everyone should have in their bag imo
Its a nice cheap prime and I find it comes in very useful :)
 
the nifty fifty, yeah i shall get one sooner or later
 
Get it sooner, I just called the local camera shop and in mid jan nikon, canon and some others are putting ALL of their price's up. They will be over £100 for the 50mm f1.8
 
yer my nifty 50 is nice, sure the nikon 18-55mm is a nice lens but i find it a tad slow in some uses.
