Nikon lens to Canon adapter

Hi, I have Nikon lenses that a friend would like to try with her Canon 40D. I see some adapter on ebay from HK. Any one has any experience with these adapter & do they work properly?

No one here seems to have used one - the Canon forum on DPReview was quite helpful (although a few folks starting having a barny as is usual over there!
