Nikon lens compatability with Nikon film SLRs

No F or F2 as far as I can see... If so, a pity. There must be a few still out there.

Needs an update for recent lenses, though. AF-P and electronic aperture E-type lenses aren't compatible with any of the film cameras. But the F80 otherwise has wide compatibility - AF, AF-D and AF-S will all work, including G and VR. AI manual focus too, but without metering.

Also needs an update - e.g., he lists cameras like the D800 as incompatible with AF-P, which isn't true with current firmware. For the dSLRs the best table is Nikon's own spreadsheet:

...actually even this isn't quite right - e.g., the spreadsheet is correct about the AF-P FX lenses working with the D800 (current firmware), but it seems to be wrong about the DX lenses not working, which Nikon says are OK (with some limitations) elsewhere:

A minor point, perhaps, as few people would want to use AF-P DX lenses on FX cameras, but Nikon really should get this stuff right. I guess it just shows what a complicated mess they have now made of compatibility. It's a bit simpler with the film SLRs, which won't work properly with any AF-P or type E electronic aperture lens.
