Is there anyway to make the D800 liveview any better with firmware?

Let's hope this one comes true.

Anybody able to explain how this electric front curtain business works compared to mirror up or quiet mode?

Good things come to those who wait ...

Just had a thought about this. If the current method of updating firmware (putting it on a memory card etc) is replaced by having to install software on your PC/Mac and then using the USB cable to connect the camera - does that not introduce more risk? PC crashes, power cut etc during an update, do you end up bricking your camera? At least the memory card method is ring fenced from those possible issues.

The same must be true of phone updates and other device updates. They seem to work okay so guess there is a fail safe.

darn, a bit disappointing init...gives a date then make us wait...gosh such teasers!

Bizarrely, and it was obviously people clutching at straws, it was deduced that the delay was blamed on the launch coinciding with Martin Luther King day in the US? Not too sure that MLK day is celebrated in Japan?:)

Might also have been to do with the D750 advisory notiice. Maybe they feel it would be better to have it received, therefore more positively noticed, on it's own?

Anyway, time will tell.
