For me it has to be:
Nikkor 105mm VR
Nikkor 50mm f1.4 G
Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8
I use the first two about 90% of the time. The 24-70mm is great all rounder...but man it is heavy!
The 14-24mm is next on my list!

Reading this thread has made me realise just how little I actually use my D700 
, compared to my D90, but on those rare occassions I would nominate;
1. Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII - a marriage made in heaven, with the best VR I've ever used (very useful at the longer FLs, BTW
) and balances well on the body too.
2. Nikon AF-s 300mm f/4 - incredible sharpness and very portable for its FL, too. Admittedly though, I use it a lot more on DX as a 'birding' lens than for anything else :shake:.
3. Sigma 50mm f/1.4 - hard to beat for silky bokeh, although I tend to use it stopped down a bit for portraiture, having got over the novelty value of seeing the world from an ants perspective at f/1.4
(where only a tiny fraction of each subject is actually in focus, as it would probably look to an insect 
).
I must be the only person in this thread to have started off digital photography with FX gear and migrated to DX :| - what a wierdo

!I've not had my D700 for long so I've not had time to build up the line-up of FF lenses I'd really want but my favourites are:
Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 - I love this in the D300 because it is awesomely sharp but on FF body it really becomes a very useful portrait lens in and out of the studio.
Sigma 30mm f1.4 - This isn't actually a FF compatible lens so the D700 crops it is a 48mm equivalent image at 5mp but I still love this lens because it is so sharp and the colour and contrast is as good as any prime I've seen. On the D300 this lens is just outstanding and makes me want the Sigma 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4.

1st - 200 f2 VR......soooo sharp, lovely DOF
2nd - 14-24 f2.8.....soooo wide, includes more scene than anything else
3rd - 500 f4 VR......extra length, especially with the DX crop on the D3x
These are the three lenses I wouldn't go to work without, anything else in the bag is a bonus
