Yes
i say FX as the perspectives different when used on DX there is no ism here.

no cheating, only 3 its hard i know :)

for me just now its

1,...50mm F1.4 G i have grown confident in using it wide open with no fear.
its just my most useful lens.

2,...85mm F1.4 G i havent grown to love it yet as its only just arrived and the D was a big favourite.but it feels right.

3,...70-200 F2.8 VR II strange for someone who dosent really like zooms [only one i have] but its become a favourite.i used it as my walkabout lens on holliday.shocking i know but i never had so many people give me there cameras and ask me to take a pic!

so whats your favourites?

Siggy 50mm f1.4

Nikkor 24-70 f2.8

Nikkor 70-200 VRII

Although i have just purchased a Nikkor 16-35mm f4, and tomorrow i get my 85mm f1.4G so my list may well change before long!!!

Nikkor 16-35 f4
Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8
Nikor 300mm f/4

The last one likely to change as Ive just bought a siggy 120-400 to replace it.

Easy:

Nikkor 200mm f/2
Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8

I could live without all my other lenses, but 93%* of my shots taken on the D3 are done with these three.

*According to me Lightroom metadata filters. :D

Tamron 28-75 f2.8 - good enough to make it impossible to justify an extra £1000 for the Nikon 24-70

Nikon 80-200 AF-D - similar to above, I was fortunate to own a 70-200 VR2 for a short time but the £1000 cheaper 80-200 makes it hard to justify owning the VR2, amazing as it is.

Sigma 12-24 - a unique perspective on FX.

Nikkor 500 f4 AF-S usually with a 1.4TC for birding

Zeiss 35 f2 ZF.2 for most other stuff

Nikkor 28-105 f3.5 / f4.5 bargain walk around at £100, with performance way beyond it's cost

Sigma 300-800.

Nikon 300 F4 plus a tc at times

70-200 2.8

Nikon 50mm 1.4G as much as i can
Nikon 70-200 f2.8vr1 outdoors
Nikon 24-70 f2.8 for other occasion but im moving towards primes more hence....

...got a sigma 85mm 1.4 hsm arriving soon too

For me it'll be:

18-35 (once I can find one at a decent price)
50 1.4
70-300 VR

All the constant f2.8 lenses are waaaay too big and heavy for everyday use (the fact I can't afford them has nothing to do with it! :D)

Nikkor 16-35 f4
Nikkor 24-70 2.8
Nikkor 70-200 2.8 vr2

Nikon 85 1.8
Nikon 50 1.4
Nikon 80-200 2.8

May promote the 135 f/2 DC when I get round to using it more..............

Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRll
Nikon 300 f4
Nikon 24-70 f2.8

Not sure I'm allowed to comment, only had a D700 for a few weeks

Anyway :

Nikon 16-35 f4 VR
Nikon 50 f1.4 G

...haven't got a third lens I like yet, need something 85-135ish, being tempted by the 135 DC atm...

p.s.
I really don't see the point of the 24-70 even after trying it. Unfortunetly this means I agree with he-who-must-not-be-named, curses...

Mmm my favourites have to be...

Nikon 35mm f1.4 afs
Sigma 50 f1.4 hsm
Sigma 85mm f1.4 hsm

I love my 24-70 also but if I could only choose 3 the above are my picks!

If I had to choose just the three lenses, they be: -

24 PC-E for architectural (if only Nikon did a 16 / 17mm PC-E)
45 PC-E for landscapes (I am not too keen on anything wider for landscapes)
58 f/1.4 Voigtlander (couple this with a D700 / D3x is it's not such a monster for street photography)

interesting lineup

dont do to much birding i guess? :)

comment away

the 50mm 1.4 is a good choice any of the 85mm or either of the DC lens would be a good catch

I do, a bit (have a nice 300 f/4 and 200-400 f/ 4 VR, along with the 1.4 & 1.7 TC for this); but I'm mostly into landscape, architectural and street.

cool

58 f/1.4 Voigtlander,i would love to try this one day never even seen one though

If you're in South Wales end of August I'd happily let you try it out; it's a beautiful bit of glass.

The 16-35 seems more popular than I expected.

The 3 I use most are :-
Sigma 12-24
Sigma 24-70
Nikon 70-300 VR.
If money was NO object, I would upgrade the Sigmas to their Nikon equivalents but the Sigmas are plenty good enough for my needs.

Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8 VR II
Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8
Nikkor 55mm 2.8 AI-s

I love shallow DoF for many shots, so my top three are:
Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 - my favourite: great drama when used properly (but filters... aaah)
Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 - fantastic all round workhorse
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 - astonishing VR, top notch crispness, good for everything from portraits to sports (needs a 2x tele for nature if not going for specialist long lens)

Runners up: the Nikkor 105mm f2.8 runs these close for usage, and Nikkor 50mm f1.4 is great for bokeh.

Nikkor 50mm 1.8 (want to get 1.4 though)
Nikkor 105mm 2.8 VR.
Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8 VR I.

24-120. the original
70-200 F2.8
sigma 120-300

50mm 1.8. My lightweight walkabout.
28-70 The Beast. My fave, I love this thing.
70-200 VR1. Most used, but that's for work.

1 -20-35 F2.8
2 - 105DC F2.0
3 - ??? dont have any more lenses :)
