Hi folks,

I'm thinking of having another go with film as I only used it at college for 4 or 5 weeks and I have seen a nice looking Nikon F301 on eekbay which would suit me right well.

My question is this, what would be a reasonable price for a good condition example?

Cheers

Andy

For body only about £15-£20.......the lens goes for more than the body and Nikon is not a wise choice because of high prices.

and its only manual focus

Thanks guys, maybe have a re-think. Olympus OM2n? seen one for £40 in good nick with 50mm lens.

wait what...eh..! ?

you have a d90, seems pretty damn sensible you should go for a nikon film body to me...

It really depends what you want, budget ?, AF ?, lens requirements ?

OM2n is manual focus

Is there a problem with manual focus? It's not that difficult :)

An OM2 or OM1 is a brilliant introduction to using film. Affordable and the basic body + 50mm Zuiko lens is hard to beat. £30 - £50ish should get you a nice one.

or a Nikon F,F2,F3,F4 etc. If Nikons cost a bit more it means that you can sell them for a bit more if you don't like them. And of course, any lenses that you buy for the 35mm frame will work on a D90. My personal favourite Nikon film cameras are the FA for manual focus and an F75 as a fantastic little walkaround autofocus camera, compatable with virtually all Nikon lenses (apart from DX of course) including VR and AF-S.

Thanks for all the responses folks. I think I will leave it for a couple of months as I know need the money for other things (life interupts again).

Cheers

Whats wrong with manual focus?
For a very long time thats all i used and still have all my manual nikkor lenses.
Oh and i still have three F 301's and consider them well built and reliable cameras.
