Nikon F3 Motor drive coupling cover

They appear on ebay from time to time, more often from US sellers. Your post reminds me that I need to get one as well. Could always try calling Nikon spares at Richmond to see if they still keep it?

Just dropped them an email .....i'll let you know what response i receive.

_Cheers Richard

Well I received a rapid response from nikon europe explaining that the part is still availble and to contact the spares dept here spareparts@nikon.co.uk to order it.

This i did on the 8th Oct.

As no reply to date, i have this evening recontacted nikon europe, requesting that they chase up their "spareparts" (colleagues)

Contact them again, their Kingston office is just down the road so you could get it posted to me or go and pick it up while you're here rather than pay postage.

Thanks for that Nick.
I'll sée if i can get hold of them by phone tomorrow;)

Nikon Spares can be a right pain to get through to at times. Often voicemail with nobody available in my experience. When I have got through to them & placed the order the parts have without fail arrived the next day though. I have used them quite a few times over the years & never had any problems with delivery.

OK so Nikon Europe came back to me immlediatley to say they would chase spare parts but no reply from the latter. Téléphone just gives answer machine
Dissapointing but no surprise tbh.
I've actually ordered from thé states ....thanks Richard for the link.

Just to update on Nikon.

I have just a few minutes ago received an email from their spare parts dept:

Dear Asha,
Thank you for your enquiry and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The part you require is currently in stock and will cost £15.00 including shipping and VAT. The part number is 40FB-9. To place an order please call us on 0208 481 6816 so that we can take some card details and your address.
Kind regards,

Assuming that you can get through when you call them :naughty:. Wonder why it took so long for them to reply? Whenever I have emailed spares asking about a part they have replied within a day or two. They are normally much better than this.

Thanks for the availability info & I will try & order one at some point. Unless the MD-4 breaks I can't ever see me taking it off, but better to have one just in case. I have 2 F3's, one without an MD-4 so can take the lighter F3 route without having to detach it.
