Anyone have bother trying to register kit on line.
Website does not appear to record my entries in my account.

I tried the Contact Nikon link, but keep getting a message saying "Level 1 error requires a product value" whatever the hell that is meant to mean.

Registered my D3 last year by phone .just taken extended waranty also by phone.

ALL my Nikon gear..Film cameras, lenses,Digital gear is all registered with Nikon in "My Account"

hi,

i have just registered a d3 and 24-70mm with no issues....

Have you got any form of confirmation of your registration?

I went through the process of registering my camera and it appeared to be successful, but when I later went back into my account to register another item there was a message that I had no items registered.
Very odd.

That is odd indeed!.....Mine all comes up in a neat list, with serial numbers, and date of purchase:)

Prompted by this exchange I have checked my listing - nothing.

I registered by phone and have documents from Homeserve, etc so know it was registered.

I decided to ask a question and got the same error message:
"Level 1 error requires a product value"

To overcome this you need to click on DSLR or Lens and this gives you a further drop down box asking for more precise product info e.g. D300.

I have successfully sent a question asking why items not listed and do I have to list again.

I have just logged into my account, and they are all present and correct...From my F80.through to my last purchase on here of an 18-105vr lens. Very Odd indeed!

Have had an acknowledgement email from Nikon. Guess I won't get a reply for a few days but will keep all informed.

I have done that too, but will also phone them tomorrow.
I have managed to get 3 lenses registered, but when I try to register the camera I am now getting a message saying it is already registered and offering a possible explanation that someone else has registered the same model but have made a mistake with it's number (i.e. entered my camera's number). Damned ropey system that permits that to happen.

Hope you successfully sort out registration.

I've now had this reply:

"Thank you for contacting Nikon regarding Product Registration,

The phone registration with Homeserve will cover you equipment for the two year warranty however this is a different system to our own. To take advantage of Nikon special offers and to download manuals from our website the equipment must be registered on this account.

If you have any further queries regarding this matter, please click the link above to update your question."

Appears I now have to go online and register - hope I don't hit the same problem as you Arclight.

I must admit, I can't fault the speed of response from Nikon.

I am having a pantomime.

I phoned Homeserve to register this morning and asked why my D700 could not be registered. They said they had no way of interrogating the Nikon database but could only add to it.
They gave me a number to phone Nikon. That turned out to be a number for repair enquiries only.
Nikon has no record of the message I sent to them from their website last night.
I have sent another and got an automated response with an enquiry reference number.
I guess it's a fingers crossed job.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

I haven't tried to register online yet but am fearing the worst.

All my kit is registered and it worked fine.

Thumbs up to Nikon from me, i registered a D90 for the 2nd year extension 9 months after i sold it. The lady i spoke to was friendly and helpful and the papers came in the post a few days later

out of interest was that 2nd year an offer on purchase or did you have to pay an extension fee?

Seem to remember reading on here a while ago about some people getting an extra year for nowt?

BTW to the original poster i had a similar problem with registering my last purchase (a 1.8 50mm) but i think it was more to do with the website playing up at the time.

Nikon's email reply turned out to be very efficient.
They quickly got back to me and confirmed that my camera is registered on their extended warranty database.
All's well that ends well.

Glad it's sorted.

Mine are now all registered online and listed - no problems.

All's well that ends well.
