Looks pretty real to me.

I suppose it's to replace the 12-24 and get back some of the market share that would be going to the Sigma 10-20.

That said, there's already a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and personally I'd be torn between the two if I didn't already have the Sigma 10-20 (old version).

The aperture is odd if true... given the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and Sigma 10-20 f/3.5

Moving from constant f/4 from f/3.5 - f/4.5.

Probably a two fingered salute to Nikon folks who want constant f/4 - take the only constant f/4 lens and respin as variable aperture:lol::lol:

Well, if they're offering this at £300 or less, then there may be room for such a lens seeing how popular the current Sigma 10-20 is

That, and with the current f/4 that Nikon has on offer being at close to £900 (WTF, I've just checked CPB and nearly lost an eye ball, or two) makes a lot of room available for this lens to step in at the lower end of the price scale.

Thought the Siggy 10-20mm was an f/4-5.6? Hopefully Nikon are pitching it at buyers of the Siggy who don't really want to shell out £6050 on the 12-24 f/4? If they can get it around the £300-£350 mark then I think (providing it's optically good) it'll take a massive share of that wideangle zoom market. Certainly looks like an exciting prospect, especially with the wider zoom range.

I believe Sigma have a new 10-20 in the final stages to be released; It's a constant f/3.5 :)

I reckon retail for this will be at least £500 and wouldn't be surprised if it was £600+.
